I need help with painting my nails?

I want to start wearing nail polish and I have never had my nails painted before. I am 12 years old, I like bright colors but not ridiculous looking colors. What colors should I use and how do i let them dry? should i use a hair dryer?

Please be sure to use a base coat first, then the color. The best way to apply polish is to use some rubbing alcohol on a towel and wipe all your nails. That removes dirt and oils that make your polish chip. Then use a base coat so your nails don't get stained from the color. Then apply the first coat of color very thin and even on your whole nail. Don't worry about the color being pretty, just make sure the whole nail is covered. [If you have time, let them dry a few minutes inbetween coats.] Then your 2nd coat of polish (this will even out to color). Then use a clear top coat and sit still! Watch some TV or listen to your Ipod but don't use your hands for about 5 to 10 minutes. Don't use a blow dryer or it will ruin your hard work. Just let them dry naturally. You could also get a drying spray from a beauty supply if you want - but it only helps a little bit. If you have a small paint brush, get it a little wet with polish remover and use that to clean up any polish on your skin.

After your polish is done and dry, try to remember to put on a fresh top coat (clear) every 5 days and it will help your polish last longer.

As for color: I'm partial to anything with glitter. Get creative and have fun. Don't worry about what is popular or what someone else likes - use colors you like and make you feel pretty. : )

I think pink would be a nice colour but i think you should just let them dry naturally ^_^

A light pink works let dry for 5 minutes. you can use a dyer if you want

Use whatever color you want. Nail polish is supposed to be fun. You could even try just a clear top coat, or a nude (skin colored) polish. Don't worry about getting the polish all over your fingers. Let them dry natural (blow on them yourself, hair dryers tend to ruin nails) then take a warm wet wash cloth and clean around them after they are completely dry.

honestly the best way is just to sit down and watch tv for a while ten to fifteen minutes if you really want to impress your freinds. then be very careful with them because they are vvery easy to dent or scrapei have tried different sprays and stuff to help them dry before but they all tend to smear them

okay chick you need alot of help girl paint them in different colors for example if you are wearing a pink polo wear pink nailpolish with some dots that match your other accesories you are wearing everytime you wanna match paint it the same color everyone at school will be amazed at how wonderful they look like one of my friends does that and she gets alot of wows
