Whirlpool Ice Maker Problem, not making ice.?

Our icemaker recently stopped working. We bought a new one and installed it. It made ice for about a week, then stopped. I thought maybe it was frozen up, so I put a hair dryer to it, and it made a few more ice cubes then stopped again. I tried the hairdryer again, but nothing this time. Any suggestions? It is one of the icemakers that the bucket sits on the shelf, and the icemaker has the metal arm you lift up and down to turn on and off.

Hi, Dave gave a good thing to check. But if the freezer is set too cold (-10 or lower) it will repeatedly freeze the incoming water line. Also if the water valve isn't getting a good shut off seal (easily replaceable part) it will allow a trickle that will also freeze the incoming line. Now you have some ideas.

Check your water line feeding your ice maker to see if getting water, if not could be plug ed up from deposits in the water.
