I am using an American microwave overseas and have to use a electricity converter. There are two choices on the converter: 50 watts or 1600 watts. It says only use the 1600 watts for hair dryers or travel irons. But a microwave must use more than that?

Hair dryers and curling irons are both power hunger devices so if you get one get the bigger one.
